Combat-related amputations differ from civilian amputations due to high-energy blast injuries, severe soft tissue damage and battlefield surgical interventions. The study assessed the prevalence, severity and neuropathic characteristics of postamputation pain among Ukrainian servicemembers. Among participants, 63.6% experienced neuropathic pain, with a mean severity of 5.5 ± 2.6 on the NRS; symptomatic neuroma was the predominant pain phenotype. Persistent residual limb pain significantly delays prosthetic rehabilitation and impairs daily functioning, emphasizing the need for early screening and targeted treatment.
